Losing fat is often synonymous to "stop eating" for many people, although this is the opposite of what you should be doing in order to lose undesired fat. First of all, "fat" is a vitally important nutrient that your body needs on a daily basis, and is not something you should strive to take away from your diet. People who want to burn away fat sometimes even need to eat more fat! How does this work out?
Nowadays we are used to eating highly processed food such as candy, chocolate and basically all other wrapped foods in the supermarket. While you can often read on the back of the package whether the product has a lot of fat in it or not, what most people cannot see is how much fat they will consume in the end. This is because not all fat is fat from the beginning. Take sugar, for instance. When an abundance of sugar is consumed (for example, drinking a lot of soft drinks, eating chocolate, etc...) the body will use up a lot of it as a quick energy booster. However, since most people are over-indulging this, a lot of this sugar is actually never used by the body, and is automatically stored inside the body as "backup" fat.
This is a natural process that benefits us in many ways, but as many people live very comfortably these days, such as always driving to work instead of walking, or sitting on the couch watching TV instead of doing sports, this backup fat is seldom ever used, and is therefore just stored in the body without any function. Eventually, as this process of
storing excess fat repeats itself (Because let's face it, one's lifestyle seldom ever changes completely) one gets fatter and fatter. This in turn can lead to serious medical conditions such as blocked arteries as well as diabetes.
How should you lose fat in a healthy way? Keep eating fat - the right kid of fat! Salmon, Tuna, and other fish that are rich in Omega-3 fats are highly recommended to add to your diet. Take the salmon for instance. It is quite a fatty fish when compared to many other kinds of fish, yet the fat in the salmon is a natural wonder-nutrient for weight loss. By eating the right kinds of fat (not fat from refined sugar) you can still enjoy plenty of tasty meals without risking your health in the process
